Every child is a dreamer. Whether it is aspiring to become the greatest football player the world has known or the first in the family to graduate with a degree from an academic institution, all children have dreams. And within themselves lies the potential to accomplishing and achieving greatness.
The children of Jamestown, the fisherman district of the bustling capital of Accra in Ghana, are no exception when it comes to “dreaming big.” Witnesses and participants of their families’ struggles to survive in Accra’s poorest neighborhoods, the children of Jamestown dream not only for their own prosperity, but also for the future of their communities and beloved nation.

Inspired by Jamestown’s enthusiastic, optimistic, and ambitious children, the Possibilities program was born in the summer of 2010.
Working with approximately 200 level 5 students in the Accra Sempe Primary Schools, Possibilities is a two-week empowerment program that encourages students to not only dream, but to ACT by creating and initiating the steps necessary for achieving their future aspirations.Led in partnership with local educators, Possibilities aims to improve literacy, build self-confidence, engage with community, and empower.
